So the day after Christmas is Boxing Day for those that don't know, I forgot to explain that the day after Christmas Boxing Day, the whole idea is, you know, you're returning the gifts that you didn't like. But I guess it's also a time when the the stores will do sales not as bad as Black Friday, but they'll do sales like that. So that's why Boxing Day. Oh, but there'll also be a hockey hockey game because the World Juniors Hockey Tournament starts, which is Yeah, which is the gift to be. Don't quote me on this, I guess like 19 and under are 18 and under. So they are some of them are the elite prospects for the NHL Draft play in this? Yeah. And every team sends a bill every part of that tour. He did. He played for the US team. Every country sends a team. So Canada, US, Sweden, Russia, Finland. So in Canada, it's a big tournament. So that's like, like it. Like it kicks off right after Christmas. So Boxing Day is when it starts and it lasts like a week. And then that's it. And they you know, it's every year, they do usually change up the location of the tournament. So I think when my brother played in it, it was some it was in Russia. So you had to spend Christmas in Russia this year, because it COVID In the past few years, because it COVID It's been taking place in Canada somewhere in Canada, and they do like a village that all the guys stay out and they just to bring down COVID. So they basically quarantine all the players in an area. Yeah, like it's basically the inside information. I've heard what they do is like, they basically look what they did in the NHL, when the season came back with COVID was like, you don't leave the hotel, the meals get delivered to you in your room. You might have like, you might have a meeting room, you get tested, like every day, if not every other day. Like oh, fortunately, it's kind of a miserable existence, but literally at the age of 18 to you can be as young as I think 16 or 17 but doesn't happen a ton. Is you know you're making while you're you're spending Christmas alone in a hotel. You know no no family around one french fries right now. Yeah, but it's like, you know, it's it's a big it's a it's a huge honor. And it's a big thing to to do for your career. Because like, if you play in this, there's a good chance that you're getting looks at NHL college like major like big time juniors like stuff like that, like you're either already playing in that and then now you put your list on, you put your name on a list for NHL draft. And if you do really well that's when you get noticed. So then the odd works. Yeah, and then the odd small country sneaks in. Obviously Germany's becoming better so they're in the they're in this now more routinely and getting noticed they're more of a dark horse though every year. And then I don't know what the best they've ever finished in these but fortune World Juniors they don't do amazing. There'll be like a country like Latvia or Belarus or something like that. But I will I'll be the first to admit that I have been very lucky and on top unfortunately it sounds like as as hard as some of the things are growing up in a hockey NHL hockey player world there's a lot of great perks with it one of them being the amazing Christmas gifts I received so like unfortunately my my dad not being able to be around as much as he would like to during the regular season. The Christmas is I don't write the Christmas is we're always big and extravagant. Yeah, so like I'm gonna sound like such a like tell him I don't know. No, no, I just ate it because I there's no way I will match this whenever I have kids because I'm just not making that kind of money. But I mean first ones that pop into my head were like, I got like a bubble hockey table. Like that was really really sick. You know, obviously we had gifts that were awesome that my parents saw about us now that when we're really young, but I couldn't remember but the bubble hockey table thing is the oldest one I can remember I might have been I might have been like seven or eight when we got that. There may be some pictures around there of me in a in a under white undershirt and tighty whities. So not posting on the internet because that's how you get pervs. But, you know, that's how early we used to wake up. You know, I've gotten goalie pads you know, particularly one that was really cool. And I found out I think my my dad played hockey with a guy that had to deal with them. So they just gave me the goalie passes and fit his son, but they were still awesome. They were Eagles which they don't make them anymore. But they were black, Nanda black sorry. They were blue, yellow and red. And I know it sounds like the weirdest color scheme, but they worked perfectly. And then the thing that I will never forget. I don't know how they did it was they put some sort of gloss on them. So they shown in the light. It was like oh, it was almost like the saran wrap them were amazing. I got the matching blocker and glove to go with it. If I can find a picture, we can post it because there were sick. They just don't make pads like that anymore. So they were awesome. No eagles. No, but yeah, eagles used to be my favorite brand.
